During the academic year, Washington and Lee University has a break during October, normally a four day weekend. Engineering Community Development (ECD) has led engineering service trips to Fries, Virginia during this break in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Fries Trip 2017
During the fall break, ECD organized a third trip to Fries, Virginia. During this trip, attention was focused on helping the community center and the water treatment center. However due to technical issues, work on the water treatment center had to be canceled. Nonetheless, work was done around the community work including maintenance work and repairing/constructing of lifeguard chairs for the community center pool.
